Killam Properties and Bell Aliant recently announced that Forest Hill Towers, a 151-unit high-rise building in Fredericton, New Brunswick, was recently retrofitted with Bell Aliant’s FibreOP technology, giving residents a 100 per cent fibre-optic network straight to their suite.

The fibre-optic network offers the highest bandwidth available for sending and receiving data, Bell Alaint says. Varying internet speeds, topping at a 70Mbps download and 15 Mbps upload, are available to tenants. The product also offers a 100 per cent, 300-plus channel, digital TV service.

A kitchen fire at the building in September last year resulted in extensive smoke and water damage to the nine-storey building. Following nine months of renovations, the property reopened in July. Additional upgrades at the building include a theatre room, rooftop patio, entertainment suite and upgraded gym and indoor pool.

“We are pleased to reopen the doors of Forest Hills with many upgrades,” says Philip Fraser, Killam’s President and CEO. “We are confident that tenants will be impressed by the modern features added to this established building, including the availability of Bell Aliant’s FibreOP technology, offering faster Internet service and digital television. Our long-term partnership with Bell Aliant continues to allow Killam residents to access top quality communications technology at attractive rates.”
